Freakin’ delish!
Thanks Bre for the suggestion… I feel more research is needed to perfect the recipe.

Not sure…

Not sure...

This was a new recipe Jason tried, and has since switched it to use cranberry juice. No need to use it on the blog, then. I don’t have a recipe for this.

Sweet martini, old style

Sweet martini, old style

Tried out the new orange bitters (Angostura orange) to make a martini before dinner. Can’t wait to try the other two types of bitters for comparison.
Recipe from Drinkboy’s new book.

Brooklyn Cocktail

Brooklyn Cocktail

© Chase Hoffman Photography. All rights reserved.

The Brooklyn Cocktail is kind of interesting. It drinks much like a normal whiskey/amaro cocktail, but since it has Amer Picon, it’s like seeing an old friend who lives far away.

Amer Picon is a french aperitif not available in the United States. By itself, it’s fairly bitter and has a strong orange peel and herbal taste. For the most part, people don’t care except for those who drink the Brooklyn cocktail. If you can manage to order or get Amer Picon into your collection, you don’t know when you can get more. Each drink is savored knowing that at some point, you won’t be able to order/make this drink again or for a very long time.

The recipe for the Brooklyn cocktail as I like to make it.

1.5 oz Rye Whiskey
0.5 oz Dry Vermouth
0.25 oz Maraschino Liqueur
0.25 oz Amer Picon

Combine into mixing glass, stir with ice until cold. Strain into a cocktail coupe.
